Professional background
Spent the period from 1979 to 1991 at Canon Inc. Japan, learning lean methods. After several years in Japan, he was tasked with the integrated implementation of the Canon production system at a German factory in 1984.. In 1991 he became co-founder of the Kaizen Institute of Europe, which he headed until 1998. In 1998 he joined forces with former employees to establish the company Syncro Consult, followed in 2009 by Syncro Advanced Production Technologies. He is deemed to be one of the greatest experts in the Toyota production system in the Western world.
